Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and City Tour
After landing in Rwanda’s Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted warmly by our professional guide, who will brief you about your 4-day Rwanda gorilla and cultural experience. He will drive you to your hotel to refresh, after which you can head for a short city tour. The city tour starts with a visit to the historical Genocide Memorial Center, where you will have the opportunity to be deeply moved by the site that honors the victims of the 1994 Genocide.

After the visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, you will then embark on Β a drive through the city, which Β takes you through the bustling market in Kigali, the museum, and finally the craft villages, where you may get the handcrafted materials sold by the welcoming locals of Rwanda. During the city tour you will have an opportunity to have a delicious lunch where you can also have a taste of the local cuisines that Rwanda has to offer.
Return to your accommodation, where you will relax for the rest of the evening and enjoy dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Cultural Visit
After enjoying breakfast at your accommodation, depart from your hotel and begin on your journey to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northern part of Rwanda. The journey, which takes approximately 3 hours, is a remarkable one, driving through various towns of Rwanda within several hills and alsoΒ rural farmlands.
You will check in at your accommodation upon arriving in Musanze district, where Kinigi town is located within Volcanoes National Park. You will have a hot lunch after checking in, and then you will have the opportunity to learn about Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Visiting the IbiwachuΒ cultural village, also known as the gorilla guardian village, will offer you a unique opportunity to participate in activities such as the traditional drumming, dancing, and storytelling.
You will also discover the traditional marriage ceremony and how it’s done while learning the ancient customs and practices of the Rwandan people. After immersing yourself in Rwandaβs culture, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and to prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
The 3rd day of the 4-day Rwanda gorilla and cultural experience is the highlight of your trip, featuring the gorilla trekking adventure. The day starts with an early breakfast at your accommodation, after which you will drive along with your driver to the park headquarters whereΒ you are welcomed with a cup of coffee to clear the cold from chilly weather.Β You will then have a briefingΒ where you will be discovering the gorilla family that you will be trekking; you will also be told about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations.Β The briefing holds significant importance as it provides essential information about the trek, gorilla behavior, and conservation efforts.

Following the briefing, your ranger guide will lead you and other trekkers on a search for the majestic gorillas. The trek can range from one to six hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you are trekking to. Walking through bamboo forests, vegetation, and uneven terrain, the journey can be challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding.
You will be amazed by how big the gorillas are when you finally meet them. The silverback, for example, can weigh up to 200 pounds. You will spend an hour watching the gorillas eat, play, and interact in their natural habitat. This intimate encounter allows you to witness the unique behavior of the mountain gorillas; seeing them bond within their gorilla family is a wonderful experience. After the trek you will meet your driver guide, who will then take you to the lodge for meals and relaxing.
Day 4: Return to Kigali and Departure
On your final day you will have breakfast at your lodge before beginning the trip back to Kigali. The drive offers you another chance to soak intoΒ Rwandaβs stunning landscapes that offer breathtaking views.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be taken to Kigali International Airport or to your hotel for your next destination.
