Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Begin your adventure with an early morning pick-up from Kigali International Airport or your accommodation in Kigali. After meeting your guide, embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwandaβs picturesque hills and terraced farms.
Upon arrival, check in at Classic Lodge, where you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and stunning views of the Virunga Mountains. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk around the lodge to familiarize yourself with the lush surroundings and spot some local bird species. Relax in the evening and savor a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Hike Mount Bisoke and Visit Dian Fosseyβs Tomb
Your day begins early with breakfast at the lodge before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing. Todayβs adventure is a hike up Mount Bisoke, a dormant volcano standing at 3,711 meters. The hike is challenging but rewarding, taking you through dense rainforest, bamboo zones, and alpine meadows. Along the way, keep an eye out for golden monkeys and various bird species.

At the tomb, your guide will share stories of Fosseyβs life and her immense contribution to gorilla conservation.

Day 3: Boat Ride on the Twin Lakes and Return Journey

The Twin Lakes, Burera & Ruhondo
Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast before heading out for a boat ride on the stunning twin lakes, Burera and Ruhondo. These crystal-clear lakes, nestled between the hills and the Virunga Mountains, offer a peaceful escape. The boat ride takes you across the serene waters, where you can take in the panoramic views, observe bird species, and learn about the local fishing communities.
After the boat ride, return to Classic Lodge for a light lunch and time to pack up. You will embark on your return back to Kigali.
